The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has renewed Ohio Virtual Academy’s Purple Star designation as part of the Purple Star Class of 2026 for their ongoing support of Military Families.

Wright-Patterson AFB School Liaison Office
The School Liaison Office is the central point of contact for commanders, military families, and local school systems on school-related matters for grades K-12. School Liaison services are open to all military families in Ohio.
United Services Organization
The United Service Organization (USO) has three locations in Ohio and hosts events for military families across the state.
Blue Star Families of Dayton and Southwestern Ohio
Blue Star Families has a chapter that serves Dayton and Southwest Ohio. The Ohio chapter hosts events and is committed to strengthening military and veteran families.
Ohio Military Kids
Ohio Military Kids provides positive development experiences for youth whose parents are deployed in military service, as well as opportunities for military-connected youth to connect, learn, and have fun. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
Ohio Military Veteran Educators Program

Here are some answers to questions military families often have. If you don’t see the information you need here, reach out to our enrollment center for help.
To enroll in a K12-powered school, please do so using the state you are currently physically residing in. You will have to show proof of residency, such as a utility bill or lease agreement.
Simply fill out an application for the school you are looking to transfer to. We have an approved student transfer process and will contact you to complete the transfer. Find out what K12-powered schools are available in your new state.
With online engagement activities, including school art competitions, STEM events, student associations, and online clubs, K12-powered online extracurricular activities unite students as they unwind, have fun, and explore shared passions.
